Roughly 50 automobiles have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Automobiles, building surfaces and postboxes were vandalized, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they reported in a release.

Officers report they were alerted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a man discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish liquid.

The substance had been applied in the form of a banned symbol, they reported.

Law enforcement then discovered multiple other vandalized cars and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Swastikas are illegal in Germany under legislation outlawing the public display of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement state early analysis indicate the fluid was probably blood from a person.

"Currently there is no clue as to its source; investigators are currently not informed of any harm in connection with the incident," they commented.

City officials stated they were attempting "to resolve the case" and have appealed to the public for information.

A high-ranking political figure said the attack made him without words and required to be addressed quickly.

"This act hits the core of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the extremist attack in 2020," he stated on a platform, mentioning the murder of nine individuals by a gunman aiming at individuals of migrant background in five years prior.
