I will dominate 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be shown live on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" the American as the combatants confronted each other to promote next month's boxing match.

Former two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I will injure his face and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to really want to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Interaction

Despite such comments, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically famous for his showmanship - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul win.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

However, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's greatest financial successes, consistently making huge paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in round four or five and stated he would stop the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters met for the traditional stare-down, with their size difference on show, it emphasized just how surprising this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really proceeding.
